How much time do you spend drawing, penciling, shading, and shaping your brows? Cosmetic eyebrow tattooing can create a longer-lasting brow so the client does not have to recreate the same shape every morning.

The hair stroke technique differs from a traditional solid eyebrow tattoo. Fine pigment strokes are placed to create the optical appearance of natural brow hairs.

The Consultation and Design Process

Before the service, the client completes a medical-history consultation so the artist can evaluate candidacy. The artist analyzes face shape, eye shape, natural brow growth, skin tone, and the client’s desired result.

The proposed brows are drawn and measured before pigment is placed. Color is selected to coordinate with the client’s skin tone and natural coloring. A topical numbing agent is applied before the procedure begins.

How Long Does the Appointment Take?

The complete appointment may take up to approximately three hours depending on consultation and design. The application portion may take approximately one hour. A follow-up evaluation is commonly scheduled after the initial healing period.

Day of Treatment: Blot Gently

Gently blot the area with a clean tissue as directed to absorb excess lymphatic fluid. Do not rub the treated skin.

Days 1–7: Wash Carefully

When instructed, gently wash the eyebrows in the morning and evening using water and a mild cleanser. Use clean fingertips, rinse completely, and pat dry with a clean tissue.

Days 1–7: Moisturize Sparingly

Apply only the amount of aftercare ointment recommended by the artist. A thin layer is generally sufficient. Do not apply ointment over wet or damp skin.

Protect the Healing Brows

• Use a fresh pillowcase and avoid sleeping face-down
• Keep makeup and unapproved skincare off the treated area
• Do not rub, pick, or scratch the brows
• Allow dry skin or flaking to release naturally
• Avoid heavy sweating and strenuous exercise as directed
• Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning
• Avoid facials, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion until cleared
• Keep retinoids, acids, and exfoliants away from the healing brows

Long-Term Care

After healing, protect the brows from prolonged sun exposure. Retinoids, exfoliating acids, chemical peels, laser treatments, and other skin-resurfacing procedures can cause premature or uneven fading.

A follow-up evaluation is commonly scheduled six to eight weeks after the initial application so the artist can evaluate healing, shape, and pigment retention.
